Welcome to =DREAD=
 
=DREAD= is a gaming community that was founded during the mighty era known as Call of Duty and its expansion, United Offensive. Since then, we have branched out to other titles spanning multiple genres.
 
If you have not already, please register for the forums (which is free), ask any questions you may have, or just browse around and say hi. We are currently running several game servers as well as a Ventrilo server, and you are welcome to drop by. While you are here, we do ask that you maintain proper decorum, respect others, and abide by all rules either in print, verbal, or otherwise assumed (in other words, use common sense). Any person disregarding these terms will be removed by a server admin.

R9 Server Patch Incoming

Some of you might not know what this is, and some of you might not even care.  Still, if the following is true, DICE/EA is finally making some progress on that rather long fix-it list.  One of the bigger things listed in this coming patch:  AUTOBALANCE.  Maybe it'll work this time.



· admin.say command implemented
- the output currently looks a bit funky on the game client, like so: Player: [Server]: <text>
but with the next game client it will look like: Server: <text>

· admin.yell to squad has changed (you need to specify both team and squad)

· squad numbering has changed – the “no squad” squad has ID 0, and real squads are 1 and up.

· Autobalance improved, it shuffles people both during and between rounds now, and does a better job. No way to turn it off via admin interface yet I think.

· mapList* commands reworked

· banList* commands reworked

· listPlayers command added

· admin.listPlayers command reworked (GUID, kills, deaths, ping and score added)

· Players have non-PB GUIDs now (these are distinct from PB GUIDs)

DICE has released a list of items that they plan to remedy.  It's quite an impressive list.  Let's hope they manage to fix these things sooner rather than later.



- EA disconnects:
Work ongoing in this area. Largely down to bandwidth, mostly fixed. This is different to being disconnected from a game server.

- CTD's: There were several CTDs reported. We have already addressed some in patches for CTDs when loading MP maps. Work on CTDs will continue. When reporting a CTD please don’t just say “my PC crashed to desktop”. We need to know what you were doing in game when this occurred in order to be able to research the problem.

- Punkbuster: Server update solved the punkbuster issue. Hacks/Cheats bans on going

- Unable to login problems: As with EA Disconnects above

- Autobalance: This is an ongoing area we are researching. We realize the frustration this causes. A re-write is underway to address Autobalance and joining friends which leads to team balance issues.

- Server Browser is slow: We are addressing this with each patch update. Sort by PING should now work. Clicking cancel should return 100 servers within 5 seconds. We are looking to introduce a list by region (Europe, North America Asia) – not confirmed as feasible yet.

=DREAD= Gaming is happy to present our newest server running Battlefield: Bad Company 2!!  It is currently based in Texas and is running Rush style gameplay and maps.  As with all our servers, we strive to run it in our typical no BS fashion so keep it clean!!  See you on the field!!
